For the majority of adults, pets are not only companions, but they are also members of the family, inspirations for their daily life, and something to offer comfort. But with growing old age, it is important to plan for the unexpected situations of life, like illness, hospitalization, or inability to move. By preparing for your pet’s future, you are guaranteed that your pet will not be left alone and unattended, regardless of the consequences.

Some seniors tend to lead isolated lives, which means that they might not have a loved one who could arrive immediately at the time of need. Even a few hospitalizations can tamper with the feeding schedule, medication routine, and daily exercise of your pet.

Planning is key to keeping your pet safe.  Keep Stella Safe is specifically created to act as a backup plan in case pet owners are unable to tend to their pets because of an emergency.

How a Pet Guardianship Service Helps Seniors

There are many emergencies that are temporary. A fall, surgery, or short hospitalization may only require a few days or weeks. This gap can be bridged by a temporary dog guardian service, by providing organized, supervised care until the owner returns to duty.

These services include:

  • Safe pickup and transportation of the pet
  • Accommodation in a pre-approved boarding facility
  • Communication with veterinarians and caregivers
  • Updates and pictures for the owner

The guardianship programs are designed to provide a quick response and coordinated care according to the instructions mentioned in advance.

What Does a Pet Guardianship Entail?

At KeepStellaSafe, we protect the bound between you and your pet.  We understand how important it is and how vital the pet is to your health and family life.

We Plan:  When we onboard you to our services, we document your pet’s service providers and verify they will continue to be part of your team.

We Communicate the Plan: You will have a legal Pet Guardian Trust that is executed.  It includes your wishes, your pet’s providers, the pet’s comfort items, feeding and daily schedule, home access points, and emergency contacts.  It may also include your wishes for a financial trust for the pet.

We Setup A Communication Tool:  All your information is located in an APP that we use with you, your providers, and your pet’s guardians.  This APP will be used for payment of the providers and billing your account for the services.  You will get full visibility on when, where, and what services your pet received.  You will receive a full appointment report for each service, with pictures of your pet.

We Wait:  We wait on call 24 hours a day and 7 days a week for any emergencies.

We Act:  We execute the plan when we get the notice of your emergency.

We Protect:  We pick up your pet quickly and keep them safe based on your prior instructions until you are home and can take care of the pet.

We Return:  We return your pet to your home once you are able to care for them.
